What is a Metric Anyway?

Creative Marketing Arts recently lost a long-time client. I was saddened because many of my clients have become good friends, and when we part ways, it can feel like a relationship break-up. I try never to take it personally, but I still feel the pain and think OUCH, that sucks. 

This client surprised me because he stopped using our agency to save marketing dollars and show a better profit at the end of the year. During the separation transfer, I asked him who we should shift their digital media platforms to. He caught me off-guard when he directed me to the company’s receptionist’s email. I was startled that he saw the services we provide as something that his receptionist should oversee. I thought, wow, he really doesn’t understand all the procedures, time, investments that must be considered when posting each and every item to their feeds.

Some Retailers See Setbacks From Silicon Valley Bank Collapse

Some retail organizations are seeing significant setbacks as a result of the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB). Toy e-commerce startup Camp, for example, sent an email to customers on March 10 that said it was slashing prices and would use the sales to help fund its continued operations after much of its money was tied up in the bank failure, according to a CNN report.

What is the Cost of Wearing Luxury Labels

Recently my brand-new car was vandalized at a Bakersfield hotel valet parking garage. The garage was equipped with security and cameras which provided me with a false sense of security, as it does for so many of us when we visit upscale hotels and restaurants.  It is heartbreaking and devastating to see your car smashed, scratched and robbed when you go to checkout.  In my case, I had a Louis Vuitton piece of luggage, a coat, and a makeup bag--all inside the trunk ready for the next stretch of my road trip, all gone.  After the initial shock of being robbed, I did all the right things you are supposed to do: I contacted the local PD and filed a police report, called my insurance, filed a claim, and then set up appointments to repair my smashed-in window and the body damage that the outside of my vehicle sustained.
